Departure Day

Steve was ready to kill me at some point during the planning of this trip I changed the flights so many times and he had no idea what time we were coming or going. I also changed the airports several times. When it was all said and done we were flying out of NH at 4pm.

Since we had such a late flight I decided to go for my morning run since I knew I would have very little time to run during the vacation. My goal was to get 5 miles under my belt. When I walked out the door, it was warm, really warm close to 80 degrees at 9 am in the morning. I hate running with a water bottle, I can usually last 5 miles without water. During this run, I was extremely thirsty at mile 2 and I wanted to stop, I pushed myself to keep running and I was sweating profusely, I decided to ditch the running plan and get me some water. I only managed to get 3 miles in. I went home showered, finished up my last minute packing supplies, dropped the dog off at my Mom’s for the week, and before I knew it we were heading for the airport and the thermometer actually read 91 degrees.

The flight was uneventful. We arrived in MCO 15 minutes early, the plan was for Steve to get the car, while the girls and I would get the luggage. As soon as we deplaned Steve took off like a flash of light, I swear I have no idea how he moved so fast. When we got to the luggage coral, the drama queen (Elise) was in full force. Apparently her carry on bag was “too heavy.” Needless to say, I had my baggalini, laptop, Steve’s suitcase, my suitcase, and now Elise’s carry on to drag through MCO airport all the way to Budget car rental. When we got to the counter, the line wrapped all the way around and Steve was second to last in line. I grabbed a seat and waited with the girls, and all the luggage. An hour later, Steve is finally at the counter. I walked over just to make sure everything is fine. Just as I get there the clerk tried to trick Steve into insurance. He says, “Would you like to have full coverage, or comprehensive?” Fortunately, my husband was smart enough to say “neither.” Then we listen to the high pressure speech. Finally we get our car, a crappy Hyundai Sonata.

We reserved a room at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral. If anyone is ever considering a Disney Cruise in the future, I highly recommend this place. It had free internet, free parking during the cruise and a free shuttle to and from port all for the low price of $107/night. They advertised that all beds were sleep number beds and we have a sleep number bed at home, so we were super excited about that. The girls decided on the sleeping arrangements. I was designated to sleep with Elise and Steve and Ashley were sharing the other bed. Well, the sleep number beds at the Radisson are not as nice as the one I am on right now. It had one number for the entire bed, where this one has two number settings. Well, Elise played with the number settings again and again, but every setting was the same for her because if you did not notice, I weigh a heck of a lot more then she does. I finally had to take the remote away. Steve decided to make a run to Publix to buy some beer and wine for the cruise. While I stayed with the kids and played on the internet. Soon we were sound asleep (at least some of us slept- Steve and I were too excited).

Up next..... How will we tell the kids we are about to go on our first cruise? Will they be surprised? Well, you know that answer, but I have video footage, so you have to come back for more.

That is it for now. I am going to wait for Steve to upload the pictures and video, because the pictures really tell the story better than I do.

Ciao!!!!!
