Pirate Night - Arrrggghhhh

It has occurred to me that I never posted the Navigators for the day. Here are today’s Navigator:

When we got back to the room. Ashley wanted to have her hair braided as well. I had her shower first and then I took her to deck 9, but there was nobody there. I went to the spa and asked about hair braiding and they informed me that the hair braiders are not spa employees, but I should try deck 10. We went up to deck 10 and walked around and around, could not find them. We decided to give up. We walked to the elevator and there they were right outside the elevator doors. As you might have gathered, Ashley and I seem to take the long way to find something close by. While I waited, I could hear the sail away whistles. They were loud up there on deck 10. When the lady finished, I paid the bill and we went down to meet up with Steve and Elise.

When I got back to the room, the kids beach friends, Mary Helen and Charlie were there waiting for us. The kids wanted to go watch the Hannah Montana Movie at 6:15 in the Walt Disney Theater. We told them they could all go together, but they had to meet us in the room when the movie was finished so we could get ready for Pirate Night.

We sent the kids on their own to watch the movie that neither one of us had any interest in seeing. We decided to go to Shutters to check our pictures. When I was there, the clerk convinced me to buy a package, he explained that I can make changes to the package at any time before I leave the trip, but if I at least buy the package, I will be certain that my pictures will not be destroyed. I decided buying the package would be the best option. When we were leaving who did I bump into? Jack!!!!
Oh, Jack.....my boyfriend. He came looking for me again. I opened my mouth and said something silly (can’t remember what), and he talked away to me. He had the character down pat.

We went back to the room and we hear the words “Mom, Dad” We turn around and Elise is standing there.
Elise says, “I’m watching the Hannah Montana Movie.”
Us: Yeah, we know.
Elise: Aren’t you going to be worried about me?
Us: We know where you are. We know you are with Ashley, Mary Helen and Charlie. Go have fun, watch your movie.
Elise turns around and like a flash of light, she was gone.

Back at the room, we dropped off our pictures and headed up to deck 9 for some snacks. Steve and I just relaxed in the lounge chairs and enjoyed some quiet kid-free time. Afterwards, we went back to get dressed into our pirate costumes. Steve was not happy about his costume. The fact that he had to wear a ruffly shirt just did not appeal to him at all. He wore it to make me happy. Soon the kids were at the door. We got them dressed super fast because I wanted to get some family shots in our matching pirate costumes that I worked so hard making.

I bought a bunch of glow sticks and the kids wanted to give some to Mary Helen and Charlie. I told them they could run them to our room, but they needed to meet us in the atrium right away because I want to get family pics taken before our dinner at Animators Palate. The kids take off, we go to the atrium.

The atrium is packed! Packed solid, pirates galore. Here we are looking through crowd for the kids and can’t find them anywhere. We wait and look, wait. Now about 15 minutes go by and there is no sign of the kids. We are freaking out. Steve asks me, Do they even know where the Atrium is? My answer was, I’m not sure.

We are panicking so, I decided to go to Animators Palate to see if they are there and Steve waited in the atrium in case they showed up. I bolt over to AP, run through shutters, who do run by? Ashley! She is standing there looking at all the pictures.
Me: “Ashley, where is your sister?”
Ashley: “I don’t know”
Me: “You don’t know?”

I grab her by the hand and meet up with Steve and let him know that Elise is “missing.” Just then, Steve gets a page from the Lab letting him know that Elise just checked herself into the Lab. Steve runs upstairs. Apparently Elise got lost and scared so she checked herself into the Lab. By the time they met up with us, Elise was in tears. We reminded her that she was safe and she did the right thing by checking into the Lab. At least we knew where she was!

We bolted in line to get our family pictures taken and I am so glad we did this because they came out so good. I could not resist. Here they are:

If you look close enough at my watch in the photo, you will see my watch that says 8:13. Our dinner is at 8:15, we were cutting it close.

After pictures we went to AP. We were not really late, I was just kind of panicking. There were not many pirates there. We were one of the few. Since it was pirate night, we had special pirate menus.

I honestly can not remember what we ordered. I know Ashley got shrimp. She found a love for shrimp on this cruise. Elise got pizza, of course. Elise was playing with the little girl at the table next to us. Her name was Selena and it was her 3rd Birthday. She was cute, she played peak-a-boo with Elise all through dinner. They brought Selena over a birthday cake. Selena’s family offered to share the cake with us. They were a very nice family. Ashley wanted to skip dessert and catch up with her friends in the Lab. We sent her on her way, but not before the kids limbo.

If you look closely you can see Elise holding Selena by the hand. After Birthday Cake, we went up to Deck 9 for the Pirates in the Caribbean party. Things were rocking up there on deck 9. We were having fun checking out the show when Ashley’s friends MaryHelen and Charlie came over to me asking for Ashley. We told them she was in the Lab.

A little while later, Mary Helen is back telling me that they she can’t find Ashley in the Lab. Not another missing child!

I went down to the Lab and they informed me that the 11 year olds were on deck 10 waiting for the Pirate Party firework display.

Over to deck 10 and the Lab counselor was just hilarious. They were in the dark at the basketball courts and the counselor had the kids tossing these huge glow stick circles around him. He was acting all goofy and the kids loved it. I found Ashley and informed her that her friends were on deck 9 looking for her. She checked out and went running for her friends on deck 9.

The party on deck 9 was fabulous. I recommend everyone going to it. The kids were dancing while the music was playing. Then the fireworks were incredible. What cruise lights off fireworks while out at sea? Only a Disney Cruise!!!!

After the firework display, the kids wanted to check back into the lab. Steve and I decided to hang out on deck 9 and watch POTC The Curse of the Black Pearl on the deck 9 big screen.

Some woman came over to me and complimented me on our costumes.

Steve and watched the movie. I did not make it very far into the movie, I was tired and ready for bed. I told Steve I was going back to the room and I would check on the kids first.

I went to the lab and the kids were having so much fun. They were building soap cars and then racing them. It was the boys against the girls. It was so intriguing I stayed to watch the show. They would sing “Varoom, varoom, varoom, na na na na na na na na hey hey hey good bye.” and release the cars. The loser soap car would get crushed by the crushinator. The kids were cheering. The boys won the race.

After the race. I asked them if they wanted to go to sleep or stay in the lab. They chose sleep. It was a long day. I ran upstairs to let Steve know we were all going back to the room and getting some sleep, he decides to follow us.

We tuck the kids in and get some zzzzz’s ourselves.
